Phew. I know St Louis Blues fans are feeling like that right about now as their squad was able to starve off elimination by beating the Nashville Predators 2-1 at home. Forward Dmitrij Jaskin scored in the 2nd period, marking his first goal this post season while fellow forward Jaden Schwartz netted the 2nd goal in the third period. Blues goal tender Jake Allen had a terrific game saving 21 of the 22 shots that came his way with the lone goal coming on a power play. Forward Vladimir Sobotka chipped in with an assist and a hit. As for the Predators, their lone goal came from forward James Neal on a powerplay. Forward Austin Watson had a solid game registering a shot on goal but had 7 hits and a block. Overall the games in this series have been relatively close with the biggest win being a 3-1 Nashville victory in game 3. Although this series may go to 7 games, I do think the Predators have a good chance at closing this series on their home ice and advancing to their first ever Western conference finals. If the Blues can carry this momentum on and take it to game 7 then they may be able to swing all momentum in their favour. Should be a good close to a solid series.
