What. A. Game. Isaiah Thomas scored 29 points in the 4th quarter and over time period to lift Boston to a 129-119 OT win over the Washington Wizards at home. Wizard guards John Wall (40 pts, 3 reb, 13 ast, 3 stl, 3 blk) and Bradley Beal (14 pts, 5 reb, 4 ast, 1 stl) both had great games (not only that but all 5 starters for WAS scored in double figures) however, it was not enough as Celtics mighty guard Isaiah Thomas scored 53(!) points in the game, most in a playoff game since Philadelphia 76er star Allen Iverson had 55 back in 2003. Thomas did not do it alone however as fellow guards Avery Bradley (14 pts, 4 reb and 3 stl) and Terry Rozier (12 pts, 6 reb, 4 ast) helped seal the victory with great play down the stretch. Despite a solid performance from the Wizards and their starting 5, they still were not able to pull away after holding a 89-84 lead going into the 4th quarter. Thomas took over after that and we know what happened. Despite the series being in jeopardy for the Wizards, I still believe they stand a strong chance at upsetting the Celtics in game 3 as the series heads to Washington. That is, unless Isaiah Thomas is a mad man and continues his strong play. Condolences out to him and his family while they deal with the passing of his sister. There is more to life than basketball and Thomas is showing that he is on a mission to make his sister proud and has been doing it in the playoffs. This series should look to be a great one as Washington tries to take a W on Thursday in game 3.
